Who we are

PartsByVehicle.com ("we", "us") operates a parts-search and comparison website. We do not sell parts directly. When you choose to buy, we send you to a retail partner — currently AutoParts.com — who handles the order.

Information we collect

• Vehicle and search information — the year, make, model, part category and ZIP code you enter. Your selected vehicle is stored in your browser so the site remembers it.
• Outbound click information — when you click a "Buy" link we record a unique click identifier along with the vehicle, part, referring page, timestamp, IP address and browser user agent. This is how referral fees are attributed to us.
• Conversion information — if you complete a purchase, our retail partner sends us an order reference, order value and order status matched to that click identifier. We do not receive your name, address or payment details.
• Technical information — standard server logs and error reports.

How we use it

To return parts that fit your vehicle, to show local availability near your ZIP code, to attribute and reconcile referral fees, to detect fraud and abuse, and to diagnose and improve the site.

Sharing

We share the click identifier with our retail partner so a purchase can be attributed. We use service providers for hosting, databases and data enrichment (including vehicle data and geocoding lookups). We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your selected vehicle and ZIP code, and we record outbound click data server-side. Our retail partner sets its own cookies once you land on their site; their privacy policy applies from that point.

Your choices

You can clear your stored vehicle and ZIP code by clearing your browser's site data. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold. Contact us to make a request.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
